MAZAL TOV!
December 7, 2021
Dear Friends,
At the Menorah Lighting on the first night of Chanukah, in the presence of Sioux Falls Mayor Paul TenHaken, community leaders, and so many wonderful friends, and amidst an outpouring of love and Chanukah celebration, we were able to share great news.
We are pleased to announce, that with God's help, Chabad of South Dakota has acquired a 2.3 acre parcel of land in a beautiful Sioux Falls neighborhood where we plan to build the Chabad Jewish Community Center!
The need is great and the time is right, to grow and build a space that will strengthen Jewish life and unity, and preserve Jewish continuity across South Dakota.
Guided by the Rebbe’s vision and teachings, the center will be your home for Jewish life, where you will feel comfortable, welcomed, and cherished, together with other Jews of all backgrounds, no matter affiliation and levels of observance.
When Mussie and I moved from New York to South Dakota several years ago, we couldn't have possibly known how our work would develop. But one thing was certain. There was a strong desire in the community to see its success. Indeed, over these past few years, we have seen tremendous growth, involvement and excitement, from all segments of the community.
By working together, we can ensure South Dakota has a bright future and welcome home for Jewish activities, a suitable gathering place for one and all in unity, connecting people from around the state. The center will also serve as a beacon of light for the broader community, offering educational and cultural programs that foster an appreciation of Judaism among all people.
These are exciting times for the Jewish community in Sioux Falls and across South Dakota and the future is very, very bright!
Together we will build a place that will stand a symbol of unity for our growing and diverse Jewish community for generations to come. A place where everyone will feel welcome.
